Charitable Transfer Worked Perfectly

5/5Proof Attached

Experience

I used this company's charity transfer program to dispose of a timeshare I inherited. Since I had no interest in keeping it and the resale value was essentially zero, donating it made sense. The process took 12 weeks from start to finish. Weeks 1-2: Consultation and document review. They verified the timeshare was eligible for donation. Weeks 3-6: Coordination with the receiving charity and preparation of transfer documents. Weeks 7-10: Resort approval process for the ownership transfer. Weeks 11-12: Final signatures and confirmation. Total cost: $1,500 flat fee plus I got a tax deduction for the donation.

What Went Well

The process was straightforward and well-explained. The receiving charity was legitimate and the tax documentation was handled professionally. My case manager was responsive and knowledgeable.

What Went Wrong

The tax deduction was smaller than I hoped - only $2,500 on the appraisal. Also, I wish they had explained upfront that not all timeshares qualify for the charity program.

Advice for Others

Charity transfer is a great option for low-value or inherited timeshares you don't want. Make sure to get proper appraisal documentation for tax purposes. Consult with your accountant about the deduction before counting on it.
