Slow, Disorganized, and Frustrating

Exit

Our exit took fifteen months. During that time, we experienced two case manager changes with gaps in service each time, received contradictory information about where our case stood, and were told on one occasion that our case had been "temporarily misfiled." The exit is real — we received our release documentation. But the level of disorganization involved in getting there was not acceptable for a paid professional service. Two stars because the outcome exists but the process was genuinely poor.

What went well:

Exit was confirmed with complete documentation.

It Worked Eventually — Not a Great Experience

Exit

Our exit from a Holiday Inn Club vacation ownership took twelve months — at the upper end of their stated range. Communication was adequate but barely. Every update required us to call first. The exit is legitimate and the documentation is complete. I am not giving a lower rating because they did deliver on the core promise. But the experience in between was impersonal and effort-intensive from the client side. If you choose Cornerstone, plan to manage the process actively yourself.

What went well:

Exit was confirmed with legitimate documentation within the stated range.

Paid $3,500 and Have Nothing to Show After Ten Months

Exit

At the ten-month mark, I have no exit confirmation and no realistic update from Cornerstone about when one is coming. Their stated timeline was eight to twelve months. When I asked two months ago what month eleven would look like, I was told they could not make specific commitments. I have filed a complaint with the Indiana Attorney General's consumer protection office and am consulting with an attorney about my options. I will update this review with the final outcome when one exists. Do not recommend.

What went well:

Staff has been reachable when I call, though the information provided has not been useful.

Eventually Worked Out

3/5

I worked with this company for approximately 13 months to complete my timeshare resale. The initial consultation took about 2 weeks, during which they reviewed my ownership documents and explained their 2-phase process in detail. The document phase went smoothly but communication became inconsistent during months 3-6. I had to follow up several times to get status updates. However, they did eventually complete the work and achieved the resale as promised. The final phase involved signing release documents and waiting for resort confirmation. I received my official release letter 3 weeks after the paperwork was submitted. Total cost: $2500 (as quoted). Mixed feelings overall, but they did get the job done.

What went well:

The flat fee structure meant I knew exactly what I was paying from the start.

Finally Done After Fourteen Months

Exit

Fourteen months is too long for an exit company that quotes eight to twelve. But Cornerstone did get our exit confirmed with complete documentation, and I want to give credit where it is due. The delay was real — Cornerstone explained it was attributable to a staffing transition at the resort's legal department — and they were communicative during the extension period. Not a great experience overall, but a legitimate outcome. Four stars despite the timeline because the communication was honest and the result was real.

What went well:

Honest communication about the delay and a legitimate exit with complete documentation.

No Communication for Six Months — Unacceptable

Exit

I paid $3,200 in exit fees at signing. For the first six months, I received one form email confirming receipt of my payment and nothing else. When I called at month three, I was told my case was assigned. When I called at month five, I was transferred three times and eventually reached someone who said they would call me back. They did not. At month seven, I escalated in writing to the company owner. The exit was eventually confirmed at month thirteen. The result is real but I would not wish this experience on anyone.

What went well:

Exit was eventually confirmed after escalation.
