Good Service With Minor Delays

4/5

Transfer

The transfer completed in ten weeks instead of the quoted seven to eight. The delay was explained — the resort had changed their deed submission process and required a supplemental form that added a few weeks. Northstar handled the additional requirement without issue and kept us informed throughout. The documentation was correct and the transfer is fully recorded. Four stars because of the timeline adjustment, but the overall experience was professional.

What went well:

Proactive handling of an unexpected resort requirement change without needing client involvement.

They Delivered on Their Promises

5/5
Rep: Lisa Myers

I worked with this company for approximately 10 months to complete my timeshare charity donation. The initial consultation took about 1 weeks, during which they reviewed my ownership documents and explained their 3-phase process in detail. Phase 1 involved document collection and contract analysis, which was thorough and professional. Phase 2 was the negotiation with the resort, where my case manager kept me informed throughout. The team communicated regularly via email and phone calls. The final phase involved signing release documents and waiting for resort confirmation. I received my official release letter 2 weeks after the paperwork was submitted. Total cost: $2700 (as quoted). I would recommend this company to others in similar situations.

What went well:

The flat fee structure meant I knew exactly what I was paying from the start.

We needed to transfer our timeshare to my elderly mother's trust for estate planning purposes. Northstar Transfer Partners navigated the trust language, the resort documentation requirements, and the notarization process without a single error. The transfer was confirmed in nine weeks. For an estate-related transfer that involved legal complexity, having a company that understood both the resort and the estate document requirements was invaluable.

What went well:

Expert handling of a complex trust transfer with no documentation errors.

Seamless Transfer — Impressed With the Process

We transferred our Marriott vacation ownership to our son and his wife as a wedding gift. Northstar Transfer Partners handled everything from the initial deed review through the final resort confirmation. The process took seven weeks — within the six-to-eight range they quoted. Every document was submitted correctly on the first attempt, which is not something I have experienced with other transfer companies. The team was professional, communicative, and clearly knew the Marriott title process specifically.

What went well:

Perfect documentation on first submission and a Marriott-specific knowledge base that prevented common errors.

Acceptable But Too Impersonal

3/5
Transfer

The transfer completed in eleven weeks. The documentation was correct. But the experience felt entirely automated — I received form emails, was routed through a general office line each time I called, and never spoke to the same person twice. For a relatively simple deed transfer, impersonal service is tolerable. For anything more complex, I would want a company that assigned me a dedicated contact. Three stars for accuracy and outcome, minus two for the impersonal client experience.

What went well:

Transfer was documented correctly and completed in a reasonable timeframe.

Communication Was Lacking Throughout

Our deed transfer to my daughter should have been a relatively straightforward process. Northstar's stated timeline was six to eight weeks. At week twelve, I had received two form emails and nothing else. When I called, the general office could never tell me exactly where our documentation stood without putting me on hold for ten or more minutes. The transfer was eventually completed at week fifteen. For a company that specializes in this service, the client experience was well below acceptable.

What went well:

The transfer completed and documentation was correct.
